Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has issued an order under the Central Government's Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Amendment Rules 2017, allowing the use of loudspeakers and sound amplification systems in the district for the following 15 days, from 6 am to 12 midnight.

The order also states that permission will be given for 2 days as per the requirement for other important programs.
On the days of the above festivals, from 6 am to 12 midnight, the use of loudspeakers and sound amplification systems will be allowed with relaxation of the limits, maintaining the prescribed noise limit.
Rules 3 and 4 of the Noise Pollution Rules 2000 and sub-rule (3) of Rule 5 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Amendment Rules 2017 should be complied with, the order noted.
The noise should not exceed the limit prescribed as per zoning. The order also states that since this exemption is not applicable in the peace zone, the responsibility of implementing it will remain with all the concerned agencies.
