In a disturbing incident from the Beed district of Maharashtra, a 30-year-old man was accused of tying a female pet dog and attacking it with a knife. He brutally stabbed the left eye of the animal and left it screaming in pain. A video from this case of animal cruelty was posted online by animal activists, who condemned the act and demanded strict punishment for the culprit.

PFA reports animal cruelty case in Beed

Vijay Rangare, President, (People for Animals) PFA Mumbai shared the clip on Instagram and reported that the brutal attack took place on February 9 when accused Kiran Sunil Sable harassed his pet dog mercilessly.

Rangare informed action has been taken against Sable.

An FIR has been registered in the case under Section 325 of BNS (2024 and Animal Cruelty Act 11(1).

The video filmed the dog tied to the ceiling using a cloth and screaming painfully for assistance. However, seconds later, the clip showed the dog managing to free itself.

Disturbing visuals show pet dog stabbed in one eye

According to reports, the accused first tied the dog’s legs then attempted to hang the animal, and subsequently used a knife to stab its left eye, causing the eye to be dislodged.

Visuals also showed the dog injured in its left eye.

The PFA official pointed out that the dog was rescued and rushed to the Government Veterinary Hospital for medical attention. The case was reported to the Ambhora Police Station.

While only a non-cognizable report (NC) was initially taken, animal activists later insisted and filed an FIR against Sable.

The accused was not arrested as of Thursday morning. "We will be urging higher authorities to arrest the accused, as his actions not only represent extreme cruelty but also pose a serious threat to society", Rangare said.
