The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is set to organise its 43rd annual Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Exhibition on February 15 and 16, 2025, at Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Udyan, Jangali Maharaj Road, Shivajinagar.

The event will be celebrated to highlight PMC’s anniversary celebrations. It will be inaugurated on Saturday, February 15, at 11am by PMC Municipal Commissioner Dr Rajendra Bhosle.

The exhibition aims to raise awareness about the importance of trees and plants in human life and it will encourage public participation in horticulture. It will feature 12 sections with 210 sub-sections, showcasing a diverse range of decorative plants, herbs, roses, floral arrangements, seasonal flowers, vegetables, fruits, garlands and bonsai displays. Unique attractions include replicas of gardens, floral decorations, wood sculptures, paper crafts and architectural models of PMC structures.

Organisations like Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune Metro, NDA, CME, Forest Department, Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, Environment Centre and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation will participate in the exhibition.

Special thematic concepts like “My Vasundhara,” “Plant a Tree, Live a Tree,” and PMC’s 75th Amrit Mahotsav floral decorations will be the highlights.

The prize distribution ceremony for competition winners will be held on February 16 at 5pm at Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Udyan.

Ashok D. Korpade, Chief Park Superintendent & Member Secretary, Tree Authority, PMC said, “The exhibition is free for all citizens and will remain open from 8am to 8:30pm on both days. Visitors can explore stalls selling flowers, fruit tree seedlings, gardening materials, seeds and fertilizers.”
