Navi Mumbai: Falcon ICU, a division of Critical Care Unified (CCU), has launched its second Smart ICU unit in Mumbai in collaboration with Mahajan Hospital in Navi Mumbai. This partnership aims to address the growing demand for world-class ICU facilities by integrating advanced technology, international protocols, and experienced intensivists.
The newly established ICU unit at Mahajan Hospital is designed to support mid-sized hospitals, which often struggle with critical care infrastructure.
Equipped with next-generation monitoring systems, real-time patient tracking, and cutting-edge ICU technology, the unit is expected to enhance patient survival rates and recovery outcomes by providing precise and timely medical interventions.
“Falcon ICU has ambitious plans to invest in approximately 3,000 ICU beds across mid-sized hospitals in India over the next five years, focusing on metro and rural cities. Internationally, CCU aims to add another 1,000 Falcon ICU beds, including its recent expansion into Nairobi, Kenya, catering to the East African market,” said a spokesperson.
Commenting on the launch, Rajiv Mathur, Executive Chairman of CCU and Founder of Falcon ICU, said, “Our goal is to revolutionize critical care accessibility in India. With the launch of our second ICU in Mumbai, we are ensuring that high-quality ICU services reach more patients across the country. Over the next few years, we aim to add around 3,000 ICU beds in mid-sized hospitals nationwide.”
Dr. Pradeep Mahajan, Medical Director at Mahajan Hospital, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, highlighting that the 50-bed super specialty hospital would now offer enhanced ICU facilities. He noted that Falcon ICU’s technology-enabled solutions will greatly improve patient care and treatment outcomes at the facility.
Dr. Avdhut Kulkarni, Senior Intensivist at Falcon ICU, underscored the challenges faced by mid-sized hospitals in providing adequate ICU services due to limited resources. “Our mission is to bridge this gap with state-of-the-art ICU setups,” he said, emphasizing that Falcon ICU’s partnerships with hospitals will combine technology, expertise, and efficient management to make quality critical care more accessible.
