According to police, around 8:30 am, the Tappachabutra SHO received information that a piece of meat was found inside the Lord Shiva Temple in Sankata Vimochana Hanuman Temple premises near Madina Hotel, Nataraj Nagar under Tappachabutra Police Station limits. Upon being informed, the SHO with other police personnel reached the spot.
The incident triggered outrage among locals. About 50 men protested outside the temple demanding action. Later, BJP and RSS activists joined the protest that lasted till afternoon. Sensing the tension flaring up in the area, senior police officers visited the temple.
Immediately, four teams were formed to analyse the CCTV footage from the surrounding areas. During the investigation, CCTV footage showed a cat carrying a piece of meat in its mouth and entering the temple premises.
After discovering who was responsible for bringing meat inside the temple, the police urged locals to refrain from spreading rumors or misinformation regarding the incident.
