HC Directs Panel To Submit Report On BRTS By Feb 25
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Though Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had announced that the BRTS corridor in Indore will be dismantled, it is for the Madhya Pradesh High Court to decide the fate of the corridor, following a petition related to the matter.
Jabalpur bench of High Court, on Tuesday, directed the committee, constituted following the Indore bench’s order dated September 23, 2024, to submit a report on February 25 over the requirement of BRTS.
Committee chairman Amit Agrawal appeared before a division bench comprising Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Vivek Jain and informed that the committee met only once on November 16, 2024, and thereafter the record and the writ petition got transferred from Indore bench to the principal seat at Jabalpur therefore further meeting could not be held.
The HC directed the committee to meet at Indore within one week and thereafter if required secondly the meeting should be held on or before February 23 and the report be submitted on February 25. The next date for the hearing is fixed for February 27.
₹ 1 Lakh Fine Slapped For Releasing Chemical Waste Into Drainage
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) took strict action against pollution and waste disposal violations on Tuesday by imposing heavy fines on offenders. In Zone No 13, PRK Commodities, a factory in Palda Industrial Area, was fined Rs 1 lakh for dumping chemical waste directly into the drainage line.
The fine was collected on the spot during an inspection by Zonal Officer Ankesh Birathre and his team. The factory operator was also warned against further violations.
Besides, a fine of Rs 51,000 was realised as a transportation fee for garbage disposal during the Urs fair near Khajrana police station. In a separate incident, a restaurant named Nadabrahma Idli, located in Manpasand Colony, was fined Rs 5,000 for putting up unauthorised banners across the colony.
