The government has extended the deadline for submission of the report into the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse, which killed 17 people and injured more than 70 last year.

The inquiry committee, headed by retired high court chief justice Dilip Bhosale, will now submit its report by March 31.

The four-member committee was set up in June last year to investigate the tragedy. A government order issued on Tuesday appointed a few persons to assist the committee and dropped a member from the Income Tax Department due to the non-availability of its officer.

A member from the chartered accountant category was also replaced; Advocate US Gandhi will be the member of the committee instead of the firm Kirtane and Pandit LLP Mumbai.

Two advocates will assist the committee chief.

Deputy Municipal Commissioner Kiran Dighavkar will assist Additional Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Joshi; and Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Police (Crime) Lakhami Gautam will assist Additional Director General of Police, Maharashtra, Nikhil Gupta.

REMIT
