Renowned playback singer Mika Singh came down heavily on Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina amid the ongoing India's Got Latent controversy. And while at it, he also questioned the authorities of the country stating that while they took no time in sending legal notices to Diljit Dosanjh over his songs, it took them so long to take action on the standup comedy show.

Mika took to his Instagram to share a video in which he said, "Yeh controversy chal rahi hai Samay Raina aur Ranveer Allahbadia ki, maine bhi voh episode dekha hai. Bohot hi wahiyaat, bohot hi ajeeb kism ki gaaliyan de rahe hai, kuch bhi bol rahe hai. Audience bechari enjoy kar rahi hai (sic)." He also pointed out the abusive language used by Apoorva Mukhija and said that while he condemns the episode, he understands that some people found it funny.

The singer then stated that he was not upset with Samay Raina or Ranveer Allahbadia, but with the popular names who appear on the show as judges. "Voh itna paisa dete hai ki tum muh uthake vahan baith jaate ho? Mere bhai, joh singers hai, voh bhi muh uthake vahan baith jate hai aur chal rahi hai maa-behen ki gaali. Someone needs to stop them," he ranted.

Mika then slammed the hypocrisy of authorities and stated, "I feel disappointed when some so-called protectors of the country target singers like Diljit and me for singing songs with references of alcohol. Tum log ko yeh gadhe log nazar nahi aate? Tumhara farz nahi banta? Celebrities aur singers ko fat se notice bhej dete ho toh aap in gadho ko rok nahi sakte?"

"Jab koi live concert ho raha hai, Diljit Dosanjh ka joh itna bada show kar raha hai. Muh uthake notice pe notice bhej dete ho, case thok dete ho. Kya aapko yeh log nazar nahi aate?" he questioned.

The Mauja Hi Mauja singer concluded the video urging the youth to not indulge in using abusive words and also urged the authorities to impose some kind of censorship on online content.

What is the India's Got Latent controversy?

For those unversed, Ranveer has been facing severe backlash after during the latest episode of Samay Raina's India's Got Latent, he asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life — or would you join in once and stop it forever?"

Post the criticism, the Youtuber issued an apology stating that there was a "lapse in judgement" and that comedy was not his forte.
