A meeting to plan about the grand procession to be taken out ahead of Chhatrapati Shiivaji Maharaj Jayanti was conducted by Panvel Municipal corporation (PMC) alsongwith residential associations.

The meeting was held on February 10 at Adya Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Auditorium, Panvel. The meeting focused on planning the event, which will feature Lezim troupes, tableau displays, drum troupes, painting competitions, and essay competitions.

The celebrations will begin on February 19 at 7:00 AM, with a garland offering at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue. “ The route to be taken for the procession was decided as well as the following programme to be undertaken was finalised,” said an official.

The procession will commence from Hutatma Smarak Chowk and will conclude at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s half-length statue at Tapal Naka Chowk. The procession will pass through Adarsh Lodge, Gavdevi Temple, Savarkar Chowk, Municipal Corporation Headquarters, Employment Office and Maulana Azad Chowk.

Subsequent programs will be held at Adya Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Auditorium, featuring the theatrical performance ‘Shivrajya’. Additionally, winners from various competitions held during the procession will be announced and honoured “The entire event is being funded through public contributions. citizens are appealed to donate voluntarily to support the celebrations. Citizens willing to contribute can contact the Municipal Corporation for further details,” said an official.
