According to reports, Real Madrid and the Brazilian player held contract talks two weeks ago, but failed to reach an agreement. The Brazilian forward rejected the proposal, feeling that the financial terms didn't match his worth, and was expecting a more lucrative offer.

Adding another layer of complexity, Saudi Arabian officials have reportedly offered Vinicius Junior a staggering €1 billion (£834m) five-year contract, prompting Vinicius to reevaluate his long-term future at Real Madrid.
