Two thieves wearing burkhas entered the house of a construction professional in Saeeda Colony on Jatwada Road with the intention of theft. One woman in the house saw them and screamed for help. As the theft attempt was foiled, both of them fled on a motorcycle. The nearby residents nabbed them and thrashed them black and blue. The mob, suspecting them to be members of a child-stealing gang, severely beat them. Upon receiving the information, the police team rushed to the spot and took the accused into custody. The incident occurred on Sunday night.

According to the complainant Faijan Shah Salim Shah (22, Saeeda Colony), his mother called him on the phone and informed him that two persons had entered the house wearing burkhas.

He immediately rushed home on his motorcycle. He saw two people running away on the motorcycle. The nearby residents nabbed the accused, Vishal Kavade (26, Nevasa, Ahilyanagar) and Vijay Chavan (Chandannagar, Pune), and severely thrashed them. Based on the complaint lodged by Faizan, a case has been registered against them at the Begumpura police station.

The residents said that the two accused had been wandering in the Saeeda Colony area for the whole day. When the residents inquired about them, they claimed to be salesmen. The police have seized a bag from the accused containing a cutter, mobile phone, pliers, and other articles.
