Mumbai, February 11: The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Tuesday, February 11 summoned YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina and others for the controversial remarks made on the show, India's Got Latent. NCW issued orders and scheduled a hearing on Monday (February 17). NCW expressed strong concerns over the derogatory comments made by the YouTubers on the show and it has taken serious note of the vulgar and offensive remarks made by the content creators.
NCW has asked Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra to appear in person before the commission on the said date.
NCW Issues Press Release
In a Press Release issued by NCW, it said, "NCW Summons Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and Others Over Derogatory Remarks; Hearing Scheduled for February 17."
Expresses Strong Concern
The notice further read, "The National Commission for Women (NCW) has expressed strong concern over the derogatory and racist comments reportedly made by YouTubers on the show India's Got Latent. The Commission has taken serious note of the vulgar and offensive remarks made by content creators such as Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani, as well as the show's producers, Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra. These comments, which have sparked widespread public outrage, violate the dignity and respect owed to every individual, particularly in a society that upholds equality and mutual respect."
YouTubers Appear In Person
NCW also said, "In light of this concern, under the instructions of NCW Chairperson Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, a hearing has been scheduled to address the controversial remark made by the content creators on India's Got Latent. The concerned parties-Mr. Ranveer Allahbadia, Mr. Samay Raina, Ms. Apoorva Makhija, Mr. Jaspreet Singh, Mr. Ashish Chanchlani, Mr. Tushar Poojari and Mr. Saurabh Bothra-are required to appear in person before the Commission. The hearing will take place on February 17, 2025, at 12:00 noon at the NCW office in New Delhi."
