Navneet Education Limited unveiled the Navneet AI. It aims to change how teaching happens across India through Navneet’s library of more than 50,000 educational resources in one digital package. Navneet AI is ready for integration with a host of classroom activities for the teachers to design and generate quizzes, homework assignments, presentations, flashcards, and summaries.

Navneet AI is the first custom model in India. It's all about school building through "curriculum alignment," "content structuring," "visual design," "assessment creation," and "quality verification" agents, all working well to ensure educational content stays to standards of accuracy and effectiveness.

Filling the AI learning gap

In the current educational technology ecosystem, most of the current AI solutions fail to meet the exact educational requirements. "AI tools are available, but they lack context. They serve requirements of a generic nature but are not specific to learning behaviours," says Harshil Gala, CEO of Navneet TopTech to FPJ. "When you ask ChatGPT, it gives a very random summary of things. It doesn't know what standard you have or where you are coming from; it doesn't have context. The problem with AI today is it has no significance. Sometimes it makes up facts that may not be true."

Data privacy protection

Privacy concerns have really been the nucleus and the epicentre of Navneet AI. "When we give an installation to a school, we create a closed network with that school itself," Gala explains to FPJ. "The school with our module is one entity by itself, and the data that the school generates, like questions from teachers related to the water cycle or life cycle of a plant, all such data queries are available only to that school in their closed loop."

That way, sensitive information is not leaked from the school's environment, including marks or reporting and testing data. Schools receive specific dashboards for principals and teachers to analyse their data, and no information is processed outside their clouds.

Improved student experience

The platform turns traditional learning materials into a variety of engaging formats. "From book or QR code or PDFs or animations, we are giving them more options to use the same content," notes Devish Gala, Director of Branding, Marketing, and Sales. "In today's world, students don't just want to read a book. Through fun methods of teaching, the experience of learning could be improved among students.

This approach mainly deals with the situation that brings difficulties to India's exam-focused education system. "The Indian education system is known for exam-focused memorisation, but with different forms of experiences of the same concept, the retention level is much longer. Students get to learn in trending ways, and thus the teaching and learning experience is faster."

Student access to AI tools

Regarding involving tools like AI, such as ChatGPT or Blackbox AI, in the learning process with the students, Navneet is extremely cautious. "We are cautious about giving our AI model loaded with all the coaching and the context of the education system to the teachers," notes Gala. "We shall work upon the solution to be able to bring changes to students' usage, but this can't be open-ended; we need it to come laden with context as seen within the curriculum, vocational systems, and the policy in the mainstream standards."

Navneet AI can afford flexibility in accommodating curriculum changes. "Curriculum change is taking time as it is what we are learning." Gala admitted that "training a new man/woman is the time factor; for example, if the syllabus is changed, five new chapters emerge that did not exist. The generation has to start building the content with respect to the old ones available to us.

Responding to concerns about AI replacing the teacher, Navneet adds that their website is to be used as a supplement to and not as a replacement for the human teacher. "For us, the consumer of skills is more important than performance. We look at AI to increase communication productivity, not to replace it," says Gala. Physical teachers are still needed for handholding and guiding students on how to use technology.

Government collaboration and Teacher training

Navneet maintains close relationships with government institutions, placing itself in a position to help the digitisation of classrooms in India, which is currently ongoing. "We have been working closely with the government throughout our existence. With government digitising classrooms being a major plan, we will be the first movers with them, helping and supporting them in every manner they see fit," shares Gala.

The company has developed an extensive training program for teachers. Under their focused "Nami for Excellence" team, Navneet led more than 100 workshops across different cities during the last year. These are open to all teachers, regardless of whether they are customers. Thus, the effort is also focused on overall improvement in education.

As the education scenario continues to change, Navneet AI is another giant step forward in harnessing traditional academic excellence with new-age digital innovations.
