Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A woman in Indore was allegedly deceived by a man who promised marriage and later swindled Rs 30 lakh from her. Initially, the accused claimed to be a successful insurance agent and convinced her to marry him despite being previously married.

After their temple wedding in 2022, the accused fell into substance abuse and continued demanding money. Eventually, he disappeared, and his parents denied knowledge of his whereabouts. Angry, the woman filed a police complaint, leading to an investigation and an FIR against the man and his parents.

According to information, the accused has been identified as Sagar Gogade, a resident of Scheme No. 114, Vijay Nagar in Indore city. According to initial investigations, the woman met Sagar at a wedding ceremony, where they exchanged numbers. Sagar introduced himself as a successful insurance agent earning in lakhs. As their conversations deepened, he introduced her to his parents and convinced her to marry him by claiming he wanted to reform himself and leave behind his troubled past.

However, the victim later discovered that Sagar was already married and separated from his wife. When she tried to cut ties, his friends persuaded her, assuring her of his financial stability. She eventually agreed and moved in with him.

Took money to fund drugs and alcohol

Sagar took large sums of money from her to fund a lavish lifestyle. In May 2022, they got married at Khajrana Temple, but soon after, Sagar fell into alcoholism and drug abuse, demanding more money. Eventually, he disappeared. His parents feigned ignorance about his whereabouts, and his phone remained switched off.

Frustrated, the victim filed a complaint with the DCP, leading to a police probe and an FIR against the accused. Police have launched a manhunt for the accused and are questioning the accused's parents for information. Further investigation is underway.
