The much-anticipated MEWA Global Expo 2025 is set to return to Mumbai for its second edition, bringing together the world’s leading players in the nuts and dry fruits industry. Organised by the Nuts & Dry Fruits Council of India [NDFC(I)], the event will take place at the Jio World Convention Centre from February 12 to 14, 2025.

Designed as a platform for global exhibitors, industry experts, and key stakeholders, the expo aims to foster growth, facilitate business networking, and showcase the booming market for nuts and dried fruits.

Global platform for trade & networking

With over 300 exhibitors from countries like the United States, Chile, Iran, Turkey, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, MEWA 2025 promises to be a landmark event for business-to-business networking and trade expansion. The event will span over 10,000 square meters, featuring an impressive array of products from both Indian and international vendors.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in panel discussions covering 14 different product categories, where leading importers, exporters, processors, and quality control experts will share insights on market trends and industry challenges. These discussions will be instrumental in shaping the future of the dry fruits sector, fostering collaborations, and identifying emerging opportunities.

Industry experts weigh in on MEWA 2025

Speaking on the significance of the event, Gunjan Jain, President of NDFC(I), emphasised MEWA’s role in boosting industry visibility and addressing sector challenges.

He said, "MEWA India provides a vital platform to project the challenges faced by the sector and enhances visibility for the industry. With over 300+ exhibitors from around the world, this event is crucial for fostering international partnerships and addressing the growing demand for dry foods in India.”

Highlighting the evolving consumer preferences, he further added: "The event will focus on addressing current trends in dry fruit consumption. Attendees can look forward to engaging in discussions centred around protein-rich foods and healthy snacking options that cater to evolving consumer preferences. This emphasis on health trends reflects the growing demand for nutritious and convenient food options."

MEWA 2024 and beyond

The inaugural edition of MEWA, held in 2024, set a high benchmark for industry events. Officially inaugurated by Om Birla, it attracted over 6,000 visitors and 130 exhibitors from 20 countries. The event also featured key industry names such as Truenut Food Manufacturing, California Walnuts, Crain Marketing Inc., Blue Diamond, and Carriere Farms, establishing itself as a critical meeting point for industry leaders.

With a remarkable conversion rate of approximately 80% in the previous edition, MEWA 2025 is expected to further solidify its reputation as a leading business platform for the dry fruits industry. The event offers valuable networking opportunities, facilitating direct business negotiations between importers and exporters and fostering long-term industry relationships.
