Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is one of the best romantic films made in Hindi cinema. The Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer is the longest running movie as even after nearly 30 years of its release, the film is still being showcased at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir theatre. Now, to celebrate the movie's 30 years, YRF and Britain's Railway have planned something special.

According to Variety, DDLJ is being converted into a musical titled Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical. The production will reimagine famously captured romantic scenes at London’s King’s Cross Railway Station. The musical will premiere at Manchester Opera House on May 29, and it will be showcased until June 21.

Aditya Chopra, who had directed Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, will be helming the musical as well. The story will revolve around Simran, a British Indian woman, who is engaged to a family family in India through arrange marriage. However, a major twists happens when she falls in love with a man named Roger. So, for the musical, the makers have converted Raj into Roger.

The English musical will have 18 songs composed by Vishal-Shekhar. The original film's music was composed by Jatin–Lalit, and the lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. However, here international lyricist and write, Nell Benjamin, has been roped in to pen the lyrics. A lot of other well-known international crew is a part of the musical.

Our musical is set to have its UK premiere at the Manchester Opera House on May 29. One of the most iconic scenes of DDLJ was filmed at King’s Cross Railway Station, which we are showcasing in Come Fall In Love! So, this is the perfect moment for us to partner with Railway 200. Together, we want to spread the message of how unifying love can be and how celebrating diversity and inclusivity is the need of the hour.”

Well, we are sure fans of SRK-Kajol are also expecting a celebration in Mumbai when the film completes 30 years.
