Renowned British singer Ed Sheeran took a break from his Mathematics Tour in India to enjoy a fun cricket session with Rajasthan Royals stars Riyan Parag and Tushar Deshpande. The IPL franchise welcomed Sheeran with a special gift a Rajasthan Royals jersey featuring the name and number of his late close friend and legendary spinner Shane Warne.

The Rajasthan Royals posted the video of the same with a caption," Won the toss and asked @edsheeran to bat first!" with a pink heart emoji

Currently touring India, Sheeran has been making the most of his visit by engaging with cricket teams. This time, he spent time with Rajasthan Royals players, receiving a warm welcome from Parag and Deshpande, who gifted him a bat and a customized team jersey.

Sheeran then took to the field for a batting session, facing deliveries from Parag and Deshpande. To everyone’s surprise, the singer displayed impressive cricketing skills, even executing a sweep shot for a six. Parag, who bowled to Sheeran, was particularly impressed by his technique.

"He's got a good swing. I'm pleasantly surprised," said Parag.

Before leaving, Sheeran returned the favor by gifting Ipswich Town jerseys to both players. He is a part-owner of the Premier League club and has been actively involved with the team.

Ed Sheeran's connection with Shane Warne

Sheeran shared a close friendship with Shane Warne, who led Rajasthan Royals to their maiden IPL title in 2008. Warne’s passing in 2022 deeply impacted Sheeran, who paid a heartfelt tribute to the cricket legend by singing at his memorial service in London.

"Shane was an incredible human to me and everyone he met. He gave so much of his time, energy, and love. He was truly a great person," Sheeran once said.

In 2023, during his concert at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Sheeran dedicated a special tribute to Warne, celebrating his life and legacy.
