AAP failed to repeat its 2015 and 2020 performances. Facing anti-incumbency, the Kejriwal-led party was restricted to under 30 seats. The BJP targeted the AAP over the alleged liquor excise policy scam and the issue of Bangladesh migrants in Delhi.

In the 2020 polls, AAP bagged 62 seats, while the saffron party had managed to win only eight seats.
