Actor Jaideep Ahlawat is currently basking in the success of his recently released hit series Paatal Lok Season 2, where he returned as Police Inspector Hathiram Chaudhary. There have been reports that the actor hiked his fee 50 times for the second season, as he was reportedly paid Rs 40 lakh earlier and received Rs 20 crore for his role this time.

Reacting to the same, Jaideep laughed and told Hindustan Times, "Arre yaar itna tha toh mujhe bata toh dete. Main kuch kar leta iss paise ka. Hai kahan ye paisa, gaya kahan?"

In another interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ahlawat spoke about his father's sudden demise on January 14, 2025, stating that it was an awkward situation, and he was unable to fully focus on the response to Paatal Lok Season 2.

"It was genuinely difficult. I got two types of calls. One was from people who called to express sadness over my loss. Then there were those who didn’t know (about my father’s demise) and genuinely called just to congratulate me on the success," he added.

Addressing the reports about his fees, he acknowledged that his remuneration for Paatal Lok Season 2 was indeed higher than what he received for the first season. "As time passes, your fees increase. The shoot started 2 ½ years after the first season," he shared.

Meanwhile, Paatal Lok season 2 is now premiering on Amazon Prime Video. The show also includes Tillotama Shome, Jahnu Barua, Nagesh Kukunoor and Prashant Tamang.

The first season of Paatal Lok was released in 2020.
