A son of a police officer from Gujarat was kidnapped and robbed in Pune, officials said on Saturday. In this regard, a case has been registered at the Faraskhana Police Station, they added.

Reportedly, Balbhadrasingh Natwarsingh Jadeja (25, a resident of Kutch, Gujarat) has filed a complaint at the Faraskhana Police Station. His father Natwarsingh is in the Ahmedabad Police Force.

According to the police, Balbhadrasingh had come to Pune a week ago to stay at his cousin's place in Kasba Peth. On Friday night, he went out to buy soda. On the road, he asked an individual on a bike where he could get soda. The biker told him to sit on the bike, saying that he would show him the shop. Then two more men came on another bike. The bike was stopped at some distance, where Balbhadrasingh was blindfolded and taken to the riverbed.

When his blindfold was removed, the three men threatened him and took away ₹10,000 and his mobile phone. They beat him up and demanded more money. He told them that he did not have any money. The thieves contacted his cousin using his mobile phone number and demanded money. The cousin refused to pay. After that, the thieves left him near the Devji Baba Temple and fled.

A frightened Balbhadrasingh reached his cousin Jayendrasingh and informed him about the incident. Later, a case was filed against the three suspects. Further investigation is underway.
