Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): With Global Investors Summit (GIS) scheduled for February 24 and 25 in Bhopal, the state government has started the preparations in full swing. The government officials are busy devising plans for beautification of the capital, deciding the menu for the VVIPs and making their accommodation arrangements.
Bhopal gets a makeover!
Workers can be seen painting the footpaths, walls, and grills along the Upper Lake. Similarly, artists were roped in to do the wall art along the VIP Road—the road that connects the airport to the city.
Major road repairs are being done to ensure smooth travel for the industrialists and businessmen. The state government is leaving no stone unturned, and even electricity poles along the VIP Road, Polytechnic Square, were being painted. Consequently, leading to a long power outage in these areas on Friday and Saturday.
Accommodation arrangements
Around 20k guests from India and foreign countries will attend the summit. Nearly 50 business tycoons, like Ambani, Adani, Mahindra, and Tata, will participate in the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the event.
Luxury rooms are being booked for them in hotels with four and five star ratings.
Five-star rooms worth Rs 1 lakh are being booked in five-star hotels for VVIPs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi can stay in Raj Bhavan.
Over 1000 rooms across categories—suite, premium, and deluxe—have been booked for February 23, 24, and 25. Bookings have been made in both-- private and MP tourism department hotels.
According to close sources, bookings for VVIPs have been made in five-star hotels like Courtyard by Marriott, Taj Lake Front, and Radisson.
Tight security arrangements will be made in the city. Heavy police forces will be deployed at airports, venues, and hotels accommodating high-profile guests.
A delectable menu!
Similarly, special menus have been designed to ensure a delectable experience for the guests. Various cuisines like continental and oriental will be served. Local dishes from Malwa and Bundelkhand cusines like Dal Bafla, Papadb ki sabji and Kadhi rice have been added to the menu.
The national and internation guests will also be served with Bhopal's famous Biryani.
