As counting of votes began on Saturday (February 8), it soon became clear that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was all set to form government and Aam Aadmi Party's (AAM) dream run was over. At the time of publishing of this story, official announcement of all results had not been made but it was almost a given that Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP may have to sit on opposition benches in Delhi Legislative Assembly.

It was hence, a matter of surprise for many as people who appeared like they were AAP supporters were spotted celebrating. The video, recorded and broadcast by ABP News saw people clad in AAP colours and sporting the characteristic 'topi' of the party dancing. The video, or the information on ABP News' post on X did not mention the actual location of the video, it was said that the celebrations were taking place 'outside the party office'.

But what was clear was that there were indeed people dancing wearing AAP colours. Even the news anchor was amused and appeared to momentarily lose composure breaking into laughter.

The video was widely shared on social media leading to amused reactions.

An X user appeared to say sarcastically that AAP cadre was projecting positivity in spite of their election loss, another one calling them 'samples' in Hindi

'They've drunk liquor provided by Kejriwal,' quipped another user who appeared to make oblique reference to the alleged liquor-policy scam over which Kejriwal was arrested and jailed.

Another X user attributed AAP cadre's frantic dance steps to them being 'moved' by AAP's impending defeat.

At the time of publishing of this story, almost whole of the top leadership of AAP was on the verge of defeat in their respective constituencies. Top leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi, Manish Sisodia, Awadh Ojha, Satyender Jain were trailing with only a few rounds of counting remaining.
