Cabinet Minister of Rajasthan's Bhajan Lal government Dr Kirori Lal Meena has accused his government of snooping him and tapping his phone. In a social gathering in a village near Jaipur, Meena said, "CID is being deployed for me at every nook and corner, my telephone is being tapped as well.” The issue was taken over by the opposition Congress, who raised the issue in the legislative assembly and demanded the resignation of the CM Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Meena accused the government of failing to act on corruption issues he had raised earlier. He cited the arrest of 50 fake police officers and claimed that when he suggested the cancellation of Sub Inspector recruitment exams due to irregularities, the government ignored his request. “I had raised some cases of corruption. 50 fake police inspectors recruited in Sub Inspector recruitment held during the previous Congress government were arrested.  When I said that this examination should be cancelled, the current government did not heed my advice and instead, similar actions are being taken as in the previous regime. Gehlot also tapped my phone and snooped me, but I do not bow down and break as I don't hesitate to tell the truth."

Expressing his disappointment, Meena said "I hoped that when the regime changes, the corrupt will be reined in, and they will be punished, but I am disappointed. This serious phone tapping allegation has made the opposition more aggressive in the assembly. There was a huge uproar in the assembly over the allegations of phone tapping of Minister Kirodi Lal Meena. As soon as the assembly proceedings started on Friday, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie raised the issue and said that the phone of a cabinet minister is being tapped he is making allegations against the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister should resign. While rejecting Kirori Meena's allegations, Minister of State for Home, Jawahar Singh Bedham said that the government does not indulge in such prentices. Notably, the veteran Bjp leader and cabinet minister Kirori Lal Meena is skipping the assembly sessions on health issues and the opposition is already attacking the government regarding this.
