Bhopal: In a shocking incident, a group of men, allegedly belonging to a Hindu organisation, brutally beat up a young man inside the court premises who had come to get a court marriage. The incident took place on Friday afternoon. A video of the incident has surfaced online.
The purported video shows Hindu organisation workers punching the young man. They have knocked him to the ground and are kicking him in the face. After the incident, police who arrived at the scene took the youth for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the Sanskriti Bachao Manch and Hindu organisation workers accused the young man of "love jihad" and filed a complaint at the MP Nagar police station.
According to reports, Shehzad Ahmed, a resident of Narsinghpur, had come to the Bhopal court to marry a Hindu girl from Piparia.
Chandrashekhar Tiwari, president of the Sanskriti Bachao Manch, alleged that Shehzad from Narsinghpur had trapped a Hindu girl in his "love trap" and brought her to Bhopal. When he was about to marry her in court, Hindu organisation members arrived after getting information from lawyers and informed the police.
Regarding the beating video, Chandrashekhar Tiwari said that due to increasing incidents with Hindu girls, angry people beat up the accused.
When asked that he also appears to be beating the young man in the video, he said he was not in it.
Hindu organisations have demanded that action be taken against Shehzad Ahmed under rape and love jihad sections. Police have taken both the young man and woman into custody.
Akshay Choudhary, ACP Bhopal, responded to the incident, stating that the couple's statement is being recorded.
"The couple came for marriage verification when they were attacked," he added.
Police officials mentioned that if the groom files a formal complaint, appropriate action will be taken against the assailants.
