Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore is set to receive the highest number of electric buses in the country under the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Seva Yojana, MP Shankar Lalwani announced on Friday.
The cleanest city will get 150 e-buses to enhance its public transport system.
The Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Seva Yojana aims to improve urban transportation by introducing electric buses under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, MP Shankar Lalwani stated that these e-buses will provide better facilities for citizens while promoting pollution-free transportation in the city.
The initiative will reduce Indore’s carbon footprint and bring benefits from carbon credits. MP Lalwani had earlier pushed for more buses for Indore, and his efforts have significantly benefited the city.
