Updates:
Team India lost a handful of wickets towards the end but they still won by four wickets and 74 balls to spare to go 1-0 up in Nagpur in the first of the three ODIs on Thursday. Before Shubman Gill (87), Shreyas Iyer (59) and Axar Patel (52) hit half-centuries to gun down 249, Harshit Rana and Ravindra Jadeja shared six wickets between them to bowl the visitors out for 248.
England made a rapid start to their innings as Phil Salt and Ben Duckett shared a 75-run opening stand but lost the plot to finish with a rather underwhelming total. There were fifties from Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell but it was the cameo from Jofra Archer that proved critical in driving the tourists to 248. Debutant Harshit Rana and Ravindra Jadeja shared the spoils, taking three wickets each.
