Mumbai: The SSC and HSC board exams will be conducted from February 11 to March 18, 2025, across 871 exam centers in Mumbai. To ensure a fair examination process and curb malpractice, Mumbai Police have tightened security measures.
Authorities have instructed the police to take strict action against those using advanced devices for cheating. To maintain a smooth and disciplined environment, Mumbai Police have issued prohibitory orders restricting the use of electronic gadgets around exam centers.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will conduct the Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) board exams from February 11, 2025, to March 18, 2025, across 871 exam centers within the jurisdiction of the Mumbai Police Commissionerate.
Considering the sensitive nature of these exams and to ensure smooth conduct without any malpractice, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Akbar Pathan, has issued strict prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. These orders will be in effect from 6:00 AM on February 11, 2025, until 8:00 PM on March 18, 2025.
According to police, Restricted Access Near Exam Centers are Only students appearing for the exams, authorized teachers, officials, staff, and exam supervisors will be allowed within 100 meters of the exam center. Unauthorized individuals or vehicles will not be permitted near the premises. No gathering of two or more persons within 100 meters of the exam centers.
This restriction does not apply to students, exam staff, police personnel, or security officials assigned to the centers.
Suspension of Communication Services: Public STD, ISD, fax machines, photocopy shops, mobile phone services, laptops, Bluetooth, and internet-based communication tools within 100 meters of exam centers must remain closed during exam hours.
Prohibition of Electronic Devices: Carrying or using mobile phones, wireless sets, transistors, radios, calculators, laptops, or other communication gadgets within 100 meters of the exam centers is strictly banned.
Ban on Loudspeakers & Noise Pollution: The use of loudspeakers in and around 100 meters of exam centers is prohibited to maintain a conducive exam environment. Restriction on Printed & Written Materials. No person is allowed to write or paste any material related to the examination on walls, notice boards, or any public property within 100 meters of the exam centers.
Any individual found violating these strict orders will face legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and will be subject to punishment as per law. The Mumbai Police are committed to ensuring fair and incident-free board exams and have urged the public to cooperate in maintaining discipline around exam centers.
