Navi Mumbai: Through early morning cycling rounds, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde has initiated direct inspections of cleanliness efforts in the city. The directives given during these inspections are being implemented across all departments.
Deep cleaning campaigns are being conducted across all ward offices, with special attention to main roads and neglected areas. As part of this initiative, an extensive cleaning drive was undertaken from Subhash Nagar to the Soldier Company at Digha node. The work focused on road cleaning, footpath maintenance, and divider beautification.
"Dust accumulated on roadside dust and soil are being removed as these contribute to air pollution. Additionally, processed water is being used to clean roads and footpaths and spraying machines are deployed to control airborne dust particles," informed an official
A similar deep cleaning campaign was carried out in Koparkhairane, specifically in Sector 11 and 12, where dust removal, disposal of dry overgrown bushes, and overall area sanitation were undertaken.
In Vashi, a deep cleaning drive was conducted in Sector 10, focusing on the external premises of the public hospital to ensure a hygienic environment. "These initiatives have witnessed active participation from cleanliness-conscious citizens as well as NSS students," said the official.
