Raisen (Madhya Pradesh): Husband and wife died after their ambulance flipped over and fell into a ditch in Raisen on Wednesday.
The accident occurred while they were being taken to the hospital.
The incident occurred around 3 AM near Devnagar (Dehgaon) in Gairatganj.
The couple, 60-year-old Preetam Singh Raikwar and his 55-year-old wife Genda Rani, were being taken from Begumganj Civil Hospital to Raisen District Hospital when the ambulance lost control.
The vehicle overturned and fell about 12 feet into a ditch below a bridge, causing the couple’s immediate death.
In addition to the couple, the ambulance driver, Rajkumar, EMT Tej Singh, and the couple's son, Toran Singh, were severely injured in the crash.
They were rushed to the district hospital for treatment.
Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and took swift action.
Station in-charge Shailendra Deyma mentioned that an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
Preliminary reports suggest that the ambulance lost balance on the road, leading to the vehicle’s overturn and fall into the ditch.
Authorities are working to uncover the exact cause of the accident, while the injured are receiving medical care.
