Actor Pratik Gandhi, who gained fame for his portrayal of Harshad Mehta in the series Scam 1992 – The Harshad Mehta Story, recently opened up about his first on-screen kissing scene with 'senior actor' Vidya Balan in the 2024 film Do Aur Do Pyaar and revealed that he was initially not comfortable about it.
In an interview with Lehren, Pratik said, "I told her (director Shirsha Guha Thakurta), there are many ways to show one thing. You tell me, I can give you different options. If I can communicate through my eyes, then you see. But she was clear what she wanted, how she wanted."
"I had never done any kissing scene before. But the way Vidya manoeuvred the whole thing, the way she made things so clear, so easy. Because as a senior actor, for me, it was only her who could make it or break it for me," she added.
"She’s so jovial, she made things absolutely light. Humne haste-haste vo scene kar diya," said Pratik.
Meanwhile, Do Aur Do Pyaar also featured Ileana D'Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy in the lead. The film is currently premiering on Disney+Hotstar.
Do Aur Do Pyaar revolves around a married couple, Kavya Ganeshan (Vidya) and Pratik (Anirrudh Banerjee), having issues in their 12-year-long marriage and ending up having an extramarital affair with Ileana (Nora Kaushal) and Sendhil (Vikram Sehgal). Things take a turn when Kavya's grandfather passes away and she and Anirrudh head to Ooty for the funeral. During their time together, the couple grows increasingly attached after spending one intimate night, leading them to ignoring their respective affairs and work on resolving their differences.
On the work front, Pratik is currently gearing for the release of his upcoming Netflix film Dhoom Dhaam, where he stars alongside Yami Gautam in the lead.
