Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Three people, including a woman, attacked an auto rickshaw driver with an iron rod and robbed him of cash in Tukoganj area on Thursday morning.

Police claimed that the accused were arrested within a few hours and were being questioned. Surendra Solanki, an auto rickshaw driver, lodged a complaint that he was returning after dropping some passengers at the railway station, when three people, including a woman, stopped him near Rajkumar Bridge at around 5.30 AM.

The trio was on a scooter and snatched Rs 1050 from his pocket. When he opposed them, they allegedly thrashed him and one of them attacked him with an iron rod due to which he was injured.  

The accused then fled from the spot. The driver had seen the last three numbers of the scooter. He was taken to hospital and the police were informed.

A case under sections 309 (4) and 309 (6) of the BNS was registered against the accused. The complainant informed the police that they were addressing each other as Golu, Akash and Vanshika. The police reached the spot and examined the CCTV footage of the area.

During the investigation and the basis of the scooter number, cops managed to arrest the accused named Golu alias Monu and Akash Saloiya, both residents of Goma KI Phel area of the city and Vanshika, a resident of Bhopal and presently living in Pardeshipura area of the city. Following the lead given by the accused, cash and the scooter were also seized.
