Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Accused wanted in connection with the kidnapping of a builder three months ago, gave police a slip after ramming their car into a police vehicle.

The incident took place on January 26 in Jhansi.

An FIR has been registered against the accused in Jhansi on the complaint of sub inspector Shailendra Singh, posted at Kamla Nagar police station of Bhopal.

According to reports, builder Nitesh Singh Thakur was abducted by Sanjay Rajawat, Pankaj Parihar, Akash Rajawat, Hemant Chauhan and Om Rajawat in October last year.

The accused released him after taking ransom of Rs 30 lakh and were demanding more from him. An FIR was lodged at Kolar police station but the case was recently transferred for investigation to Kamla Nagar police station by senior officials.  

On January 25, SI Shailendra Singh and his team traced the location of the accused at Chhatarpur. The police team was at Pachwara toll plaza when it spotted the accused in a car and gave them a chase. SI Shailendra alerted the Sakrar police station ahead and continued chasing the accused.

However, the accused hit a police vehicle near Lohari toll plaza and fled from the scene.

Accused Om Rajawat, who was driving the car rammed it into a police vehicle multiple times and dodge the police team. SI Shailendra Singh who was injured in the incident registered an FIR for obstructing government work, attempt to murder and other relevant sections of BNS at Sakrar police station at Jhansi on January 28.

Police officials said that the location of the accused is being traced and police are on their trail. They will be nabbed soon, officials added.
