Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL) reported a 180 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 164 crore in Q3 FY25 compared to Rs 58.5 crore in Q3 FY24 when it released its financial results for the third quarter of the current fiscal year on Thursday. The company's net profit dropped 22 per cent sequentially from Rs 209.4 crore in the prior quarter.

The media conglomerate based in Mumbai reported Rs 2,103 crore in total revenue, a 3 per cent decrease from Rs 2,073 crore in Q3 FY24.

Q3 FY25 Revenue

The company's consolidated revenue from operations decreased 8.4 per ent to Rs 940.6 crore from Rs 1,027.4 crore during the same period last year. Profit after tax increased 4.3 per cent sequentially from Rs 901.7 crore in Q2 FY25.

EBITDA Q3 FY25

The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased 52.4 per cent from Rs 209 crore in the previous year to Rs 318.4 crore in the most recent quarter. EBITDA margin increased from 10.2 per cent to 16.1 per cent, a 590 basis point increase from the same period last year.

Due to a slow holiday season, the company's advertising revenue grew 4% on a quarterly basis (QoQ) but decreased 8 per cent on an annual basis (YoY).

Subscription revenue Q3 FY25

In the third quarter of FY25, the company's subscription revenue increased by 7 per cent to Rs 982.5 crore, driven by both its streaming platform ZEE5 and linear subscription revenue.

In the global market, ZEEL's subscription revenue was Rs 86.6 crore, whereas its other revenue from sales and services was Rs 20.8 crore.

In Q3 FY25, the company's total expenses were Rs 1,734.7 crore, which was 10.17 per cent less than the Rs 1,931.1 crore recorded the previous year.

On a YoY basis, Zee Entertainment's all-India TV network share increased by 40 basis points in Q3 FY25.
