On Sunday, Central Railway celebrated the 6th anniversary of the iconic 22221/22222 Rajdhani Express, seamlessly connecting CSMT and Hazrat Nizamuddin with unmatched speed and comfort.
Inaugurated on January 19, 2019, the CSMT-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express began its journey as a bi-weekly premium service, connecting Mumbai's iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus with Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin
At its launch, the CSMT-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express featured 1 First AC coach for premium comfort, 3 AC 2-Tier coaches for privacy, 8 AC 3-Tier coaches for affordability and 1 pantry car
Due to overwhelming response after its launch, 2 additional AC-2Tier and AC-3Tier coaches were added within a month
The CSMT-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express increased its frequency to four times a week on September 13, 2019, and further to a daily service on January 19, 2021
The CSMT-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express earned the distinction of being India’s first train to adopt Push-Pull technology, aligning with the government’s 'Mission Raftar'
Push-Pull mode employs engines at the front and rear, removing banker attachment in ghat sections and reducing journey time
The CSMT-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express represents Indian Railways' strides in innovation, delivering unmatched speed, comfort, and reliability to passengers while redefining standards of operational excellence
Passengers, railfans, train staff, and CR employees gathered at CSMT to celebrate, with rail enthusiasts from across the country joining the event during the train's departure
