Veteran Telugu actor Vijay Rangaraju passed away due to a heart attack at a private hospital in Chennai. He was 55 years old. According to several media reports, the actor had suffered injuries during a film shoot in Hyderabad nearly a week ago. Reports of his demise has left fans and colleagues grieving.

The news of Vijay's death was confirmed by publicist Suresh on X (formerly known as Twitter). Details about his last rites will be shared by his family members soon.

Vijaya is survived by his daughters, Deekshita and Padmini.

Reportedly, Vijay was shifted to a private hospital in Chennai for treatment after he got injured during the shoot of one of his upcoming projects. However, he succumbed to his injuries.

Vijay is known for playing negative and supporting roles in films. He began his career as a stage artist in Madras. Vijay made his film debut with the Malayalam movie Vietnam Colony, in which he played the role of a villain opposite superstar Mohanlal. The film’s 150-day successful run brought Vijay recognition and he was praised for his performance.

Following this success, he was cast as the antagonist in the Telugu film Bhairava Dweep. It was during this film that his name was changed. Earlier, his name was Raj Kumar.

He has also been a part of other films like Bhairava Dweepam, Padikkathavan, Yagnam, Ashoka Chakravarthy and State Rowdy.
