Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): An All India Ayurveda Institute will be opened in Ujjain, announced Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. He said that a proposal in this regard is under consideration with the Central Government.

The Chief Minister was addressing the three-day Ayurveda Parv 2025 and national seminar at Pandit Khushilal Ayurvedic College in Bhopal on Monday. Higher education minister Inder Singh Parmar was also present on the occasion.

"Ayurveda specialists understand that nature has a remedy for most of our health problems. During the Covid period, desi Kadha served as a saviour for many. It helped boost our immunity, making our bodies stronger to fight off any infection.

"Even Madhya Pradesh has an age-old connection with Ayurveda. Therefore, state government has decided to expand branches of Ayurveda, and more colleges will be opened to facilitate organised education in this regard," the CM added.

CM Mohan Yadav asserted that the state government is focusing on paramedical and nursing courses as well.

Talking about Simhastha preparations, he said that arrangements will be made in Ujjain on the line of the Haridwar Kumbh.

Notably, preparations for Simhastha 2028 have already been started in Ujjain. Last week, District Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh and District Panchayat CEO Jayati Singh took a boat ride to inspect the 29.2 km-long Shipra Ghats, starting from Triveni Ghat to KD Palace.

Collector Singh also directed the Water Resources Department and other officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for widening the ghats, constructing paved access routes, and ensuring safety measures.
