Donald J Trump is all set to be the next president of the United States, as his inauguration for his second term as the US president is just hours away. Trump will be sworn in on January 20.

The icy weather and the change in plan, from a traditional outdoor event to an indoor one, have not managed to put out the spirit. Donald Trump and his camp organised a victory gathering on the eve of the inauguration.
In this event, which was conducted with much fanfare, Trump spoke and reiterated his aims and goals. One of the key points he highlighted was his energy policies. Trump indicated that US reliance on fossil fuel will increase, and the alleged red-tapes will be torn off.

Another aspect that once again raised a few eyebrows was the presence and absence of on the dias, where Trump stood and orated.

Elon Musk, who was invited to the stage stated, "Thank you Mr. President!
Little X just followed me on the stage here, he’s a very enthusiastic supporter, as you can see."
Elon Musk's Influence
This is interesting as JD Vance, who is the vice-president elect was not invited. Apart from his absence here, Vance has largely been out of the public eye since Trump's victory in November.
Although largely a role of lesser significance, the VP of the US is first in line to replace the president, when the president is incapacitated.
In addition, Musk, who is Trump's de facto lieutenant has exerted more influence than any other person in the new scheme of things in the United States. As a result of this, many have even dubbed him as President Musk.
With two personalities that are not known for compromises, it remains to be seen as to how long, the bonhomie between the two remains. Until then, many such eye-raising moments are expected to be in store for all.
