Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A tragic incident unfolded in Bhopal’s Awadhpuri area, where a 17-year-old girl hanged herself to death, the police reported on Sunday. The incident took place on Saturday night, when the girl’s parents were out for a health check-up.

According to information, the deceased has been identified as Aadhya, student of a reputed school in Ratibad. Adhya’s father Rajeev Singh Parihar is a professor at LNCT and he lived with his family in Shubhalay Vilas Colony, Awadhpuri Phase-2.

According to Sub-Inspector Rajkumar Sharma, Rajeev Parihar and his wife went to AIIMS for a medical check-up on Saturday night, leaving Adhya alone at home along with their housemaid and aunt. 

Door remained locked from inside

After her parents left, Adhya went to her room to study. However, when the housemaid knocked on her door for dinner, Adhya did not open the door. Later, her aunt also called Adhya out for a long time, but received no response. 

Worried, Adhya’s aunt informed her parents, who then rushed home. Later, they broke the door open only to find Adhya hanging in her room.

The police have seized Aadhya's iPhone and laptop, both of which are locked with passwords. No suicide note was found in the room, and her social media accounts showed no posts hinting at the reasons behind her actions.

Rajeev Singh and his wife, who had their daughter after almost 8 years of prayers and worship, are devastated by the loss. The police have not been able to record their statements yet due to their emotional state.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities trying to uncover the factors that led to this heartbreaking incident.
