After months of anticipation, the British band Coldplay performed in Mumbai on Saturday as part of their India Tour, and its lead vocalist Chris Martin sent desi fans into a tizzy after he chanted 'Jai Shri Ram' during his performance.

Videos of the moment have are now splashed all over the internet in which Martin can be seen saying "Jai Shri Ram" aloud after reading it off a placard held by one of the fans in the audience. He also asked what the phrase meant.

Not just that, but after concluding one of his songs, he thanked the audience by saying, "Shukriya", making the fans go wild.

Coldplay kickstarted their India Tour on January 18, Saturday, with a jampacked concert at the DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai. Social media is brimming with photos and videos of fans who attended the concert showing off their light bands, the confetti shower, the lights, and the stellar performance by the band.

Coldplay performed some of its iconic songs including Fix You and A Sky Full of Stars, among others.

The band is scheduled to perform in Mumbai on January 19 and January 21 as well, post which the members will travel to Ahmedabad, where they are set to perform on January 25 and January 26.

While thousands of fans were left heartbroken as they could not get their hands on the Coldplay concert tickets, the band announced that the concert on January 26 will be live-streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

Chris Martin, along with girlfriend-actress Dakota Johnson, and other members of the band, arrived in Mumbai on Thursday, and they were seen enjoying their time around the city, visiting some of the iconic spots, including Marine Drive and Babulnath Temple.

Chris and Dakota were seen offering their prayers at the Babulnath temple ahead of their concert, and the actress also visited Siddhivinayak temple with Sonali Bendre. The Fifty Shades Of Grey actress was seen in an Indian outfit along with a saffron dupatta, and was all smiles as the paps clicked her.
