The Bandra police on Sunday arrested a man aged around 24, for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan. The accused was arrested in Thane.

A police officer from Bandra confirmed the arrest to Free Press Journal.

He lived in Worli and worked in a pub located near the Coast Guard. He allegedly committed theft there, so the employer sacked him from his job.

Attack on Saif Ali Khan

The actor was attacked on January 16 night and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital with six stab wounds. He was operated upon by the doctors and is recovering post surgery. He was shifted from ICU to general ward.

The actor confronted the attacker leading to stab attack with once close to spine and one in the neck. A part of the knife used in the attack was stuck in his body and was removed during the surgery.

Police formed several teams to track the attacker whose movement was captured on the CCTV climbing from sixth floor of the building to 11th floor.

Police captured the alleged attacker roaming the streets on January 17 morning.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Durg, Chhattisgarh also nabbed a man in this connection. The accused Aakash Kanojia was travelling from by train when police detained him.

Saif Ali Khan's wife and actor Kareena Kapoor Khan in a statement shared that Saif intervened to protect their younger son Jeh. "The attacker didn’t steal anything. Saif intervened to protect younger son, Jehangir (Ali Khan), and the attacker was unable to reach him. Saif tried to save children and women," she said.
