Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The running room of loco pilots and guards at the city railway station has been declared as ‘Eat Right Campus’, with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India issuing a certificate to this effect. Running room means a place where the on duty railway crew like train drivers, guards etc can rest and take a break.

The running rooms located at the Ujjain and Ratlam railway stations have also been declared as ‘Eat Right Campus’. This certification is awarded by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India to those campuses which set standards in providing safe and nutritious food to the people.

Before awarding the certificate, various parameters were checked such as cleanliness and hygiene, not using single use plastic, not using paper for food items, use of branded spices, salt etc, expiry date on all food items, use of gloves by the cook and the server and their police verification, facility of pure drinking water and availability of dustbins for dry and wet waste etc.

It is a big achievement for the division that the three running rooms of Ratlam division, Ratlam, Ujjain and Indore, have been simultaneously certified as ‘Eat Right Campus’ Along with this, all the three running rooms of Ratlam division have been awarded 5 star rating by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, which is the highest category of rating and is also called exemplary category. This certification will be valid till January 14, 2027.
