Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Traffic Department has issued a traffic control notification ahead of the international Coldplay concert scheduled at Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium, Nerul, on January 18, 19, and 21. To ensure smooth traffic flow and safety, specific routes and parking areas have been designated, with certain restrictions on vehicle movement and parking.

Some of the roads would be closed to public vehicles for movement and parking between 7:00 AM and 12:00 midnight on the event days. The roads that will be closed for public movement are- LP Bridge to Shivaji Chowk, Shivaji Chowk to Shani Mandir Arch, and Shani Mandir Arch to Bhimashankar Cut Service Road. Additionally, the service road from Raheja Corner (Shiravane) to Punyagari will also be closed for vehicle movement and parking during the same period.

To minimize inconvenience, alternative routes have been arranged. People heading to the stadium can use Nerul Station Road to Shivaji Chowk and then take a left towards Palm Beach Road to reach their destination.

Another option is to proceed via Uran Phata Bridge o Apollo Hospital and then take a right turn to the destination. For those affected by the Raheja Corner to Punyagari closure, the Sion-Panvel Highway can be used as an alternative route.

“These restrictions do not apply to vehicles carrying essential commodities, police vehicles, fire brigades, ambulances, government vehicles, or vehicles engaged in emergency services. Furthermore, vehicles with authorized passes issued by the Coldplay event management will also be exempt,” Deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Tirupati Kakade said.

The traffic arrangements aim to manage the large crowd expected at the concert, ensure safety, and prevent congestion near the stadium, he further said.
