Jaipur: The seasonal diseases like Dengue, Malaria and Chikungunya are being reported even in winter in Rajasthan. In the first 13 days of January, 24 cases of Dengue, 21 cases of Chikungunya and 11 cases of Malaria have been reported in the state; however, no deaths have occurred until now.

According to a report of Health Department of the state, Rajasthan, cases of Malaria have been reported in 6, Dengue in 11 and Chikungunya in 12 districts of the state. Highest 5 Dengue patients have been found in Chittorgarh while 4 in Jaipur district.

Besides Dengue, cases of Chikungunya and Malaria are prevalent in districts like Udaipur, Jaipur. Kota, Barmer, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and some other districts.

The doctors said that for some years Dengue cases occur throughout the year in Rajasthan however there is no specific reason behind it other than the prevalence of mosquitos in some areas.

Senior physician Dr. Satish Mathur said, "The basic cause of Dengue and other such diseases is mosquitos, so the prevalence of mosquitos should be checked in the areas from where the cases are being reported."
