Mumbai, January 16: The first visual of the suspect who attacked Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence in Mumbai's Bandra has surfaced. In the video, the suspect can be seen walking down the stairs through the fire exit with a backpack on his back.
The actor sustained multiple injuries after being attacked with a sharp weapon around 2:30 am. He was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, where he underwent surgery, which concluded by 12 pm, as per the statement released by his team.
The police have registered an FIR in connection with the matter. The police have claimed that the attack occurred in a robbery attempt.
In Saif case Bandra police registered an FIR against an unknown individual under Sections 311 (robbery or dacoity with the intention of causing grievous hurt or death), 312 (Crime of attempting to commit robbery or dacoity while armed with a deadly weapon), 331(4) (house-trespass or house-breaking at night with the intention of committing a crime), 331(6) (house-breaking or lurking house-trespass at night after preparing to cause harm), and 331(7) (causing grievous hurt while committing house-breaking or lurking house-trespass) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
According to reports, the police are investigating the possibility of an insider’s involvement since no intruder was detected on the CCTV footage for nearly two hours before the incident. Three individuals have been detained for questioning, and the role of the maid, who also sustained minor injuries, is under scrutiny.
