Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has responded to the incident of an attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence in Bandra late at night.
After attending the screening of actress Kangana Ranaut's upcoming movie "Emergency," Maharashtra CM addressed the media. Responding to a question regarding the attack on Saif Ali Khan, he said, "The police have already provided you with all the information regarding this. What type of attack is this, and what is the intention behind it?"
When asked about criticism from opposition leaders alleging "Mumbai is not safe anymore," Fadnavis said, "I feel that among all the mega cities in the country, Mumbai is the safest. It is true that sometimes certain incidents occur that should be taken seriously. However, it would be unfair to say that Mumbai is unsafe because of this incident, as it tarnishes the city's image. The government will certainly make efforts to ensure that Mumbai becomes even safer."
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was injured during a burglary attempt at his Bandra residence, is now reported to be out of danger, according to his team.
The actor sustained multiple injuries after being attacked with a sharp weapon around 2:30 am. He was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, where he underwent surgery, which concluded by 12 pm, as per the statement released by his team.
According to reports, the police are investigating the possibility of an insider’s involvement since no intruder was detected on the CCTV footage for nearly two hours before the incident. Three individuals have been detained for questioning, and the role of the maid, who also sustained minor injuries, is under scrutiny.
