Actress and former Bigg Boss contestant Karishma Tanna, who is Saif Ali Khan's neighbour, reacted to the attack on the actor during a robbery attack at his Bandra residence. In the wee hours of Thursday (January 16), a burglar entered Saif's residence and attacked Saif multiple times with a sharp object.

Now, in an interaction with ETimes, Karishma said the situation is 'scary' and revealed that she has been demanding an increase in security in their area. Karishma stays in a building which is in the same lane and is diagonally opposite to Saif and Kareena's.

Saif stays in Satguru Sharan building with his family members.

"It’s a crazy scene outside as I am talking to you… there are a lot of cops and media downstairs. The whole incident is a wakeup call for a lot of stand along buildings in Bandra. I have been telling everybody in my cooperative housing society for over a year or even more to increase the security. The watchmen I feel need to be properly trained. They are not reliable in case of such incidents. If a burglar barges in your building, the watchmen are not trained enough to tackle the situation. How will a family handle such a situation? It’s very scary," Karishma informed the news portal.

She added, "I hope people learn from this incident. Whatever happened to this family nobody deserves it. I am sure even my building will tighten the security now and have more guards on board."

Attack on Saif Ali Khan during robbery attempt

Media reports have stated that the robber first confronted Saif's maid and when the actor intervened to defuse the situation, the intruder became aggressive, resulting in a scuffle.

The 54-year-old actor was attacked around 2.30 am on Thursday at his residence. His family members were present with him at the time of the attack.

Kareena's team had said in an official statement, "There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request the media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the police is already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern."

Saif's PR team also issued a statement to reveal that the actor is now out of danger and his neuro and cosmetic surgeries have concluded at Lilavati Hospital.
