Elon Musk is back with another ‘breaking’ announcement. Yes, you heard it right! Musk is looking for software engineers for his new project. He made the announcement through a X (earlier Twitter).

Software engineers get ready to work with Musk

Elon Musk could be rethinking and challenging the traditional hiring process. In a social media post, Musk made a global call for hardcore software engineers to join him. Together with them he will be building platform. He claims that this could become one of the most versatile digital platforms ever created. The message was quiet direct. He wrote, “We dont care where you went to school or even whether you went to school or what 'big name' company you worked at. Just show us your code".

Well, this isn't the first time Musk has questioned the importance of formal education in hiring. He has already spoken about how education systems needs to focus on improving problem-solving abilities. He highlighted that the system needs to stop relying on exams/tests and memorisation. Musk’s perspective is reflected in his hiring practices at SpaceX, Tesla, and now for X.

The roadmap ahead

The aim of making  X (earlier Twitter) as an universal account has been in his plans for quiet sometime. Now he aims to onboard more people for his project. With the new set of employees, he aims to improve his ambitious project of creating the ‘Everything app’. The idea is to transform X into a single platform which can provide you different services. Ethics could include payments, e-commerce,  messaging and multimedia.

Musk’s ‘Everything app,’ concept is similar to China's WeChat. Notably, this is a widely used app which combines shopping, social networking and payments in one place. Musk  aims to move beyond traditional social media and create a one-stop global marketplace for goods,  ideas and services.
