Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is out of danger, his team informed on Thursday, hours after he was stabbed by a robber in a burglary attempt at his Bandra residence. Saif sustained multiple injuries after being attacked with a sharp object around 2:30 am. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra where he underwent a surgery.
As per the statement shared by Saif's team, the surgery got over by 12 pm.
"Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police is investigating the incident," the team's official statement read.
"We would like to thank Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr Leena Jain and the team at Lilavati hospital. Thank you to all his fans and well-wishers for their prayers and thoughts during this time," the statement further read.
Attack on Saif Ali Khan
The attack took place at Satguru Sharan building, where Saif resides with his family members. Media reports have also stated that the robber first confronted Saif's maid and when the actor intervened to defuse the situation, the intruder became aggressive, resulting in a scuffle.
Saif was attacked around 2.30 am on Thursday at his residence. His family members were present with him at the time of the attack.
Kareena's team had said in an official statement, "There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request the media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the police is already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Saif was last seen in Devara Part 1, an action-packed film which released in September 2024, also featuring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor.
He is set to star in the highly anticipated heist thriller Jewel Thief - The Red Sun Chapter, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat.
