Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A man shot at a woman with whom he was in a relationship following a heated argument at a restaurant leaving her seriously injured on Tuesday, Tikamgarh police said. 

Kotwali police station in-charge Pankaj Sharma said that the man, Kapil Tiwari fired at his girlfriend while the two were sitting in a restaurant in Tikamgarh. The exact reason for the man firing at the woman is yet to be ascertained, said police.

The police have arrested the accused and also seized the country-made gun which was used in the crime. In the preliminary investigations it has come to fore that Kapil and the woman were in a relationship and the man had called her to a restaurant. During the meeting, the duo entered into a heated argument and in fit of rage Kapil opened fire at her.

Hearing the woman’s shriek, others at the restaurant rushed to her only to find her profusely bleeding. The people at the restaurant caught hold of the man and later handed over to the police. The woman first was taken to a nearby hospital, but the doctors referred her to Jhansi medical college.  A green corridor was created for the ambulance carrying the seriously injured woman to Jhansi.
