Dnyandeep Seva Mandal Primary School defeated defending champions Modern English Chembur by eight wickets in the Giles Shield Super League at High Court Oval Maidan on Tuesday. Modern English only managed 88 all out in 33.4 overs on the second day. Leg spinner Mohammad Ali picked a six-wicket haul, (6-23) in eight overs to win the Man of the Match award for his match winning performance. Dnyandeep Seva Mandal reached the target (120-2 in 26.4 overs) as Anup Yadav and Virat Yadav remained unbeaten on 39 and 38 respectively.

Batting first, Modern English posted a paltry 111 in 43.1 overs on the first day. Rajvardhan Jadhav made 36 before getting out LBW. On the other hand, Lavish Singh and Mohammad Ali picked three wickets a piece. Dnyandeep were 80 all out in just 23.3 overs in their first innings. Virat Yadav top scored with a half century. Off spinner Lakshya Bhor picked (4-10) in just five overs while medium pacer Krish Patil got (3-28) in seven overs at the end of day 1.

Advit Tiwari top scored with a brilliant unbeaten 118 for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vidyalaya.

The match between Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vidyalaya and General Education Academy Chembur at Police Gymkhana ended in a draw. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar got more points on the basis of first innings lead. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar team scored 307-7 in 95 overs on Tuesday. Advit Tiwari top scored with a brilliant unbeaten 118 which included 14 boundaries. Left-handed batter, Sanmit Kothmire made 62 while Kavan Merai contributed 53. Sparsh Gholap, off spinner was the pick of the bowlers with a four-wicket haul, (4-80) in 20 overs.

Earlier on day 1, General Education Academy declared their first innings at 300-5 in 75.4 overs, courtesy brilliant knocks from openers Shardul Fagare 93, Akshat Joshi 70 and Sparsh Gholap 66.

Shauryakant Upadhyay made 72 for Swami Vivekanand Borivali.

Swami Vivekanand Borivali earned more points against RR Education English Mulund through first innings lead, after the match ended in a draw at Western Railway Cross Maidan. Resuming day 2, RR Education were 247 all out in 101.3 overs. Advait Joshi top scored with 43. In reply while chasing down their total, Swami Vivekanand edged past their opposition, scoring 252-9 in 74 overs. Shauryakant Upadhyay made an excellent 72 in the process which included nine boundaries and bagged the Man of the Match award while Kaanish Panchal made 53. Medh Daiya, Advait Joshi, Shaurya Navale and Vedant Patil all picked two wickets each.

The fourth league match between IES New English Bandra East and VK Krishna Menon Academy Borivali which was slated to be held at Khar Gymkhana on January 13 and 14 will now be held after the second round of matches, due to non availability of the ground.
